Love love love CoCo Sala and I’m not even a big fan of chocolate…
Rosa Loves… The Co Co. Sala chocolate experience.
I met with my foodie friends Rebecca and Shirin a couple of nights ago for dinner and sparkling drinks at Co Co. Sala, a popular chocolate lounge in DC. We also had a great chat with Chef Tiptur at the end of the evening which made our dining experience even more special.
A few years ago, I discovered this place as I was on my way back home after a run around the monuments. I immediately called another chocoholic friend and after our first visit, we became devoted fans. I am so addicted to this place that I am always trying to find an excuse to taste the delicious tapas style dishes and signature cocktails. And of course, the desserts!
The concept is everything a chocoholic would dream of: besides the impressive dessert selection, chocolate is incorporated in many of the savory dishes. The Creole Crabcake is served with a chipotle chocolate tomato glaze and the side fennel and avocado salad on the Aztec Cheese Enchilada comes with dark chocolate chips.
The desserts are out of this world! On this particular night, we all shared the Chocolate Onyx, a dark chocolate mousse with crème brulee and salted caramel. Shirin took home some Churros and they were a hit with her man. I must confess something, I have tasted nearly every item in the dessert menu, and I am proud of it. Yes, my name is Rosa and I am a chocoholic.
One more thing you must try if visit Co Co. Sala, the Chocolate Covered Bacon. Trust me, you will become addicted. It’s that GOOD!
